What material are the pieces made of?

 

The pieces are handcrafted in 925 silver, 925 silver with a 24k gold plating, or 9k, 14k, or 19.2k gold.

 

SILVER

The pieces are made of 925 silver or 925 silver with 24-carat gold plating. They are legally hallmarked. They are certified by the Assay Office, which verifies the legal fineness, i.e., the purity of precious metal contained in an alloy, and the application of the hallmark next to the responsibility mark, manufacturer's mark, or equivalent. The application of Assay Office marks is only mandatory for silver pieces weighing more than 2 grams.

 

GOLD 

The pieces are predominantly made of 9, 14, or 19.2-carat gold (orders for other finenesses or alloys, such as white gold, are also accepted). They are legally hallmarked. They are certified by the Assay Office, which verifies the legal fineness, i.e., the purity of precious metal contained in an alloy, and the application of the hallmark next to the responsibility mark, manufacturer's mark, or equivalent. The application of the Assay Office mark is only mandatory for gold pieces weighing more than 0.5 grams.

 

In case of doubt about the authenticity of the pieces, the buyer can always resort to the services of the Assay Offices for verification of the authenticity of the material:

 On the Banco de Portugal website, you can consult the daily quotations for gold, silver, platinum, and palladium, in accordance with the provisions of article 63, paragraph 1, subparagraph a), and paragraph 2.
